Guildford LidoFrom 10.30am on 19th April 2008 until 6.30pm on 1st September 2008, at Guildford Lido, Stoke Road, Guildford, GU1 1HB The Lido's 75th Anniversary (1933 ~ 2008) season begins on Saturday 19 April at 10.30am. Set in three acres of landscaped gardens, retaining much of their 1930's charm, the lido has a heated 50 metre pool and restored changing facilities. The swimming pool is open until September, from 10.30am - 6.30pm for public swimming. Due to the remedial works taking place at Spectrum this summer, swimmers at the Lido can take advantage of a period of extended opening hours during the closure of Spectrum's Competition pool. The display includes the events, the shops, the clothes and the culture. The exhibtion includes over 70 pieces of work spanning the last 8 years which deal with the portraiture genre. Peter Monkman has exhibited widely, including the BP Portrait Prize and the Jerwood Drawing Prize touring exhibition in 2008. This exhibition is a Watts Gallery touring show. The sculptors come from all over the South East and there will be a complete range of styles and materials used. The Guildford farmers' market has over 60 stalls where you can buy high quality products, including seasonal fruit and vegetables, meat, cheese, fish, eggs, baked goods, preserves, wine, beer, cider, plants and crafts. All are locally produced in the area. Box Office 01483 44 00 00 Regiment Band concert30th August 2008, at 7.30pm, at Guildford Cathedral The Regiment Band of the Grenadier Guards will end their UK tour with a varied and entertaining concert. This will include a newly commissioned piece of music. All proceeds from the event will be going to the Colonel's Fund. Tickets for the concert are priced at £16 and £12. You can also have supper in the refectory for before the concert too.
